In ACT – Acceptance and Committment Therapy, your values are the compass. Values give us our sense of direction.

Values are not goals or outcomes. They are qualities of being and doing that matter to you deeply. They are not what you achieve—they are how you want to move through the world.

You may not be able to hike like you used to, but you may still value connection with nature.
You may not be able to lift your child, but you may still value being emotionally present.
You may not work full-time, but you may still value creativity, kindness, or faith.

Values say:

“Even if my pain stays, I still get to choose what kind of person I want to be.”

For many, this is the turning point. Life is no longer just about reducing pain—it becomes about returning to purpose.
